He/Him/His
Therapy is more than just a title. I believe in being real, relatable, and showing up as my full self. Here are a few things that make me…well, me:
I’m a self-proclaimed nerd with a love for comic books, especially LGBTQ+ stories. Graphic novels often make their way into our sessions because they can be a powerful way to explore identity and experiences. Saga is a personal favorite.
Music is a huge part of my life—I’ve been playing bass guitar since high school and dabble in drums too. Music is where I go to recharge and find my center.
I’m a proud dog dad and spouse—my family is everything to me.
When I’m not working or spending time with my family, you can find me tending to my veggie garden, gaming on my PC, or getting involved in local advocacy work.
How I work
At the heart of my approach to therapy is a simple belief: you know yourself best.
As a queer person with ADHD, I’ve navigated my own struggles, and it’s shaped the way I approach mental health. I’m tired of the idea that typical human experiences—like being neurodivergent or questioning your identity—need to be pathologized. That’s exactly why First Brick Counseling was created: to offer a space where your whole self is affirmed, and where we don’t just “fix” problems but empower you to thrive.
I believe therapy should be tailored to you. That’s why I use a flexible approach, combining strengths-based and person-centered techniques. Our work together will take into account the unique factors shaping your life, and focus on how we can create real, meaningful change.
I also bring training in evidence-based therapies like Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which provide powerful tools to help you heal and move forward.
HEre’s what I believe about therapy:
It isn't about becoming someone "different."
It’s about discovering how to live your truth and finding what works for you. Together, we’ll explore and embrace the unique traits that make you who you are. You are the expert on your own experiences—and my job is to support you as you move forward.
The best investment you can make is in yourself.
We’re often told to “work harder” or “sacrifice” at the expense of our health. But when you prioritize your well-being, everything else in your life can improve. You are worth the time, effort, and care.
You are inherently deserving of healthy, loving relationships.
Too often, we’re shamed into “keeping the peace” or sacrificing our needs to avoid conflict. But what’s the true cost? Let’s work together to set healthy boundaries, communicate effectively, and build a support system that truly values and respects you. You deserve peace, love, and support in all your relationships.
Get the support that’s right for you.
